Booking Flights

Going

We’ve saved an average of $800 per flight (per person) by subscribing to Going (formerly known as Scott’s Cheap Flights). Their $49 / year subscription is well worth the investment and we talk more about them than any other resource! Do yourself a favor and sign up today!

Momondo

Helps you find and compare hundreds of cheap flights. We get a deal alert from Going and then head to Momondo to check out the best itineraries!

Kayak

Super helpful travel search engine to compare prices, plus saves you money if you bundle a hotel and car with your flight.

Booking Accomodation

Booking.com

Our go-to site for checking out accommodations! Booking.com compares everything from swanky local hotels, to mom-and-pop run BnBs and gives you all the information you need to make an informed decision about your stay.

AirBnB

If you want to get a more local feel for the place you’re staying, check out AirBnB. From private rooms to full apartments, AirBnB has a wide variety of accommodations available from local hosts. We’ve especially enjoyed staying with local hosts and saving money by having access to a kitchen when we travel.

VRBO

If you’re traveling with a large group or want more space to yourself, VRBO is the way to go! We’ve used them to book family beach trips, friend group trips, and more.

HostelWorld

If you’re looking for cheap, no-frills accommodations, HostelWorld has you covered. I used their site almost exclusively when I was on school and traveling on a budget.

Getting Around

Google Maps

I know, I know. It’s Google Maps! But did you there’s lots of additional features? For example, you can download a map location and have it be available offline. This is super helpful when you’re traveling and may not have wifi access. Plus, we also like to bookmark any interesting places and make a list for each trip so we don’t forget to visit any places we’re interested in.

Transit

Is a one stop app for all urban transit options, including bus, train, bike, scooters, rideshare and more. Since we like to travel as sustainably as possible, Transit is a great resource which shares real-time information about public transit or other eco-friendly alternatives to help you get from point A to point B as quickly as possible. Available in your app store!

All Trails

Great for discovering hiking trails, campsites, and other places to explore. With pics and reviews from real life explorers, you can get an idea for what your next adventure will look like, easily.

No Mean Adventures Blog

Of course, we can’t forget our very own blog and video consultations! With lots of ideas for exploration across the world, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for.

Staying Connected

Google Fi

Psst! Did you know you can bring your phone overseas and not change a thing? Google Fi’s plan has free texting, affordable voice calling, and $10/GB data plans when traveling outside the United States… All without having to buy a SIM card or change your phone. It’s super easy, and super affordable. Plans start at just $15 a month – sign up here and get a $20 credit when you join!

What’s App

Perfect for texting, video calls over wifi, or sending pics of your travels back home to loved ones.

Marco Polo

Time zones gotcha down? Marco Polo is a great way to stay connected to family and friends while you’re on the go. Send videos back and forth to each other, and watch whenever you’re online.

A new little adventure every day.
